Introduction
Hello!
It’s a prolonged summer here in Sweden, but the days are getting shorter, from a sunset of around 10 PM to 8.30 PM, which causes some stress for my outdoor evening hobbies that I have 😊.
But I do like the start of the fall, when it’s still warm enough to not freeze, but cozy to stay inside and do things you haven’t had time for since the start of spring.
The main headline since the last newsletter has been Windows Backup, which is now Generally Available (GA).
In short, Windows Backup is Microsoft’s modern approach to protecting user data and settings in Windows 11. It backs up files, apps, credentials, and device configurations to the cloud so they can be quickly restored on a new or reset device. For organizations this integrates naturally with Windows Autopilot, making provisioning and recovery much smoother. It also brings a user experience like Apple’s ecosystem. When setting up a new device, you simply pick a backup from one of your existing devices and continue where you left off.
Here is the official blog post from Microsoft: Windows Backup for Organizations is now available – Windows IT Pro Blog
