Welcome to the Jan 12–25 edition. Over the last couple of weeks, I upgraded Configuration Manager at a few customers and ran into issues with some PowerShell-based solutions — including the excellent Driver Automation Tool. The root cause was an NTLM-related change in ConfigMgr 2509, where the AdminService now rejects NTLM authentication attempts. (What’s new in version 2509 – Configuration Manager)
It is also a good reminder of how important proper testing is after updates. Not just that the upgrade completes, but that your automation, scripts, task sequences, and integrations still work the way you expect.
Another Intune update this period is the new possibility to use a PowerShell script as the installer type when deploying a Win32 app. Benoit’s post covers the feature and limitations and Harm’s write-up adds good practical context.
